Sarah Kay Presents: The Type (A Book Release Show)

Enjoy the release of Sarah Kay's newest book, The Type, with a night of poetry, celebration, and surprise guests - LIVE! In a rare hometown show, New York City poet Sarah Kay will perform new poems and old favorites, including "The Type", the poem that "explores the promise and complicated reality of being a woman" and which will now be available in a beautiful illustrated hardcover from Hachette Books.

Sarah Kay is a spoken word poet from New York City. She is perhaps best known for her 2011 TED talk, “If I Should Have A Daughter” which has been seen over eight million times online. Kay has been invited to share her work on such diverse stages as the Malthouse Theater in Melbourne, Australia; The Royal Danish Theater in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Carnegie Hall in New York City, among hundreds of other venues around the world. Her books, B (Domino Project, 2011) and No Matter the Wreckage (Write Bloody Publishing, 2014) are both consistently top-ranked bestselling poetry books. Sarah is the founder of Project VOICE, an organization that brings spoken word poetry to schools and communities around the world.
